What is Open Tour?
Vietnam doesn't have a bus pass system. What it has is something called "Open Tour". There are many
tour companies that sell the tickets and operate their own busses. The tickets are cheap, and the busses
are fairly comfortable. At Saigon Sleeps, we recommend that you use the Open Tour system, instead of the
local busses. The local busses are often not as comfortable, and as convenient, and sometimes not as cheap.
How does it work?
You can either buy a single ticket to a single destination (such as Saigon to Dalat), or a book of tickets to a number of destinations.
The total price from Saigon to Hanoi ranges from $25 to $30. You need to confirm your ticket for your onward journey 24 hours before you intend
to travel.
Below is an Open Tour schedule. The prices and times are approximate. Feel free to use it as a rough guide to the Open Tour
system.
